EAP 193: Free Reality - How a Physician Reclaimed Purpose Through Holistic Healing with Dr. Michelle Clay

In this inspiring episode of the Early Accountability Podcast, host Kimi Walker sits down with Dr. Michelle Clay, a physician turned holistic wellness expert and founder of Freeality, to discuss her transformative journey from conventional medicine to whole-person healing. Dr. Clay shares how she pursued her childhood dream of becoming a doctor, only to realize that true healing extends beyond prescriptions and test results. After a personal tragedy, the loss of her younger brother to suicide, and her own struggle with uterine fibroids, Dr. Clay began embracing holistic approaches that addressed not just the physical, but also the emotional and spiritual dimensions of well-being.

Throughout the episode, Dr. Clay offers practical tools and heartfelt wisdom on navigating health challenges, supporting loved ones, and aging with intention, especially for what she lovingly calls her “fabulous sisters over 40.” She recounts how she helped her father manage his blood pressure and cancer treatment through whole food nutrition and herbal tonics, and introduces listeners to her brand, Freeality, which provides premium herbal teas and retreats for midlife wellness. Her parting affirmation, "I am worthy of the very best in life. I now lovingly receive it," is a powerful reminder that healing begins with self-worth and the courage to choose better every day.

Kimmy Walker here.

Kimi:

Welcome back to the next episode of

Kimi:

the Early Accountability Podcast.

Kimi:

I am very lucky to have our

Kimi:

guests here with us tonight.

Kimi:

We've been on the road with the doctors,

Kimi:

the physicians, excuse me, the medical

Kimi:

doctors, the trained and credential.

Kimi:

Medical doctors, medical physicians.

Kimi:

Today we have Dr. Michelle

Kimi:

Clay, a Free Reality.

Kimi:

She is a physician who transitioned

Kimi:

from conventional medicine to holistic

Kimi:

health and she has free reality.

Kimi:

She's gonna come here today to talk to

Kimi:

us a little bit about her company, what

Kimi:

she does, and a lot of transitions and

Kimi:

pivots that she's made in her life.

Kimi:

Help others make in their life when it

Kimi:

comes to wellness and holistic being.

Kimi:

So Dr. Michelle, thank you

Kimi:

so much for being here today.

Kimi:

I'm so happy to have you here 'cause

Kimi:

you are my, a fellow wellness warrior.

Kimi:

So y'all know I love wellness,

Kimi:

and wellness is everything.

Kimi:

, So why don't you just tell the

Kimi:

audience a little bit about who you

Kimi:

are, how you got to where you're

Kimi:

doing what you did today, your journey

Kimi:

into medicine and holistic health.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: First of all, thank

Kimi:

you so much for having me here.

Kimi:

I'm so excited to share with you

Kimi:

and to all of your listeners and the

Kimi:

intention today for me, which is always

Kimi:

that I say something that impacts you.

Kimi:

Deeply for your transformation that

Kimi:

confirms the little small still voice

Kimi:

in your head that says, go forth, do it.

Kimi:

But you've been hesitating.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

But so first of all, my role to being a

Kimi:

physician, I've always known not always,

Kimi:

from the time I was five years old,

Kimi:

I knew that I wanted to be a doctor.

Kimi:

There wasn't any doctors

Kimi:

in my family at all.

Kimi:

And for people who are listening in, if

Kimi:

you think about from the time you were

Kimi:

a child, what it is that you really

Kimi:

want to do, what resonated with you?

Kimi:

What spoke to you?

Kimi:

A lot of people grew up and

Kimi:

they're not doing that thing right.

Kimi:

But that was something that

Kimi:

was just annoying in me.

Kimi:

So I did what was necessary.

Kimi:

That's, listen, I'm.

Kimi:

50 plus phenomenal woman.

Kimi:

Okay?

Kimi:

So that's before the internet

Kimi:

and all those things.

Kimi:

So you had to do the old school

Kimi:

Encyclopedia Britannica, go to the card

Kimi:

catalog and find the number and find the

Kimi:

books in the library to study on what

Kimi:

did it take to become a physician, right?

Kimi:

And so then that's what I did.

Kimi:

And then.

Kimi:

I got to medical school finally,

Kimi:

I actually got early acceptance

Kimi:

into medical school, so I could

Kimi:

have chosen not to graduate from

Kimi:

college and start medical school

Kimi:

Oh wow.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Yes.

Kimi:

But I chose to finish out my

Kimi:

senior year because I went to.

Kimi:

The greatest college ever.

Kimi:

Xavier, university of

Kimi:

Louisiana in the X grad.

Kimi:

I hope you're listening in.

Kimi:

So I want to finish there.

Kimi:

And I went to Ohio University College

Kimi:

of Osteopathic Medicine in Appalachia.

Kimi:

It's in southeast Ohio.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

Totally new experience for me leaving the

Kimi:

HBCU, but I've realized my childhood dream

Kimi:

and medical school, of course, was tough.

Kimi:

And honestly, I'm gonna

Kimi:

be completely transparent.

Kimi:

Is that okay?

Kimi:

Please be.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Please speak.

Kimi:

Is that

Kimi:

the information in the content in

Kimi:

medical school really isn't that hard?

Kimi:

I'm gonna be honest with you.

Kimi:

What's really challenging is the

Kimi:

microaggression and sometimes

Kimi:

straight aggression that I encounter

Kimi:

and a lot of other people that

Kimi:

look like me encountered as well.

Kimi:

That's what made it so challenging because

Kimi:

if you weren't already intelligent and

Kimi:

had some brilliance about you, you never

Kimi:

would've made it into medical school.

Kimi:

And then you get there and it's all of

Kimi:

these programming and messaging that

Kimi:

says you're not supposed to be there.

Kimi:

You don't deserve to be there.

Kimi:

But nonetheless, I made it Through

Kimi:

graduated, I realized my childhood dream.

Kimi:

I was in my residency seeing patients,

Kimi:

all this, and then it wasn't what

Kimi:

I thought and I was disenchanted

Kimi:

about the whole thing because what

Kimi:

I was seeing was a revolving door.

Kimi:

And what that revolving door

Kimi:

entailed was patients will come,

Kimi:

we order tests, we give them

Kimi:

certain treatments, and they leave.

Kimi:

And they may be back a week, a month,

Kimi:

three months later with the same thing.

Kimi:

And I was having these encounters where

Kimi:

the patients were like, oh, Dr. Clay, can

Kimi:

you pray with us or can you pray for us?

Kimi:

Nurses asking me, come

Kimi:

to teach Bible study.

Kimi:

I.

Kimi:

I'm not breaking the Bible with me

Kimi:

to see patients, but there must have

Kimi:

just been something about me that

Kimi:

they wanted more than just the blood

Kimi:

tests, the x-rays, the CT from me.

Kimi:

And.

Kimi:

I started rethink.

Kimi:

I wasn't happy with what I was

Kimi:

doing because I felt like I wasn't

Kimi:

doing enough to really help people.

Kimi:

And that was the draw.

Kimi:

That was the push for me

Kimi:

of going into medicine.

Kimi:

And I didn't know what

Kimi:

else to do with my life.

Kimi:

But what happened was my younger brother

Kimi:

at the age of 21 committed suicide,

Kimi:

Oh

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: and at that moment.

Kimi:

I said, I don't wanna do anything that

Kimi:

makes me that unhappy that could take me

Kimi:

to that place where all I want to do was

Kimi:

the PA in the pain, that emotional pain.

Kimi:

And so that's the thing about wellness

Kimi:

that probably was missing and what I was

Kimi:

doing in just conventional medicine was we

Kimi:

were only addressing the physical aspects.

Kimi:

But not the spiritual, the

Kimi:

emotional, the social aspect.

Kimi:

That all goes into wellness and

Kimi:

wellbeing and how you can live

Kimi:

and not just survive, but thrive.

Kimi:

So I decided to take a little

Kimi:

break just to get myself together.

Kimi:

As you can imagine, that

Kimi:

was a major disruption and

Kimi:

trauma and pain in our family.

Kimi:

Right.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: I remember when I flew

Kimi:

home and I saw my mother and when I

Kimi:

hugged her, that's the first thing I did.

Kimi:

But her eyes, it looked like some of the

Kimi:

life had drained out of her eyes, and

Kimi:

yes, her youngest child and her only boy,

Kimi:

Oh my.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: 'cause

Kimi:

it was just two of us.

Kimi:

And that's her baby boy.

Kimi:

And he like, so mama's in their

Kimi:

sons honey, and he used to tell her

Kimi:

mom, we're always gonna be together.

Kimi:

And she said Tanya, you could get

Kimi:

married and have children and you know

Kimi:

you're gonna be living with your wife.

Kimi:

He said, no, mom, I have a house

Kimi:

out back for you or something, but

Kimi:

we're always going to be together.

Kimi:

That's what he always used to say to her.

Kimi:

So there was that.

Kimi:

That closeness and that was gone from

Kimi:

her, that just drained out of her.

Kimi:

You know what I mean?

Kimi:

And so what really led me to the holistic

Kimi:

aspect of medicine was my own healing

Kimi:

journey of having uterine fibroids.

Kimi:

And so studies show up to

Kimi:

97% of African American women

Kimi:

suffer from uterine fibroids.

Kimi:

So if you are sitting in a row and

Kimi:

it's all African American women, I

Kimi:

guarantee you to your left and to

Kimi:

your right, the cyst has fibroids.

Kimi:

Okay?

Kimi:

And my message, I'm a very spiritual

Kimi:

person, in case you haven't noticed.

Kimi:

I guess the patients notice that,

Kimi:

that's why they want me to pray

Kimi:

with them and for 'em, okay?

Kimi:

In the hospital and in the clinic was.

Kimi:

You can do this naturally, you will

Kimi:

be able to shrink these naturally.

Kimi:

And once you do, you share that

Kimi:

information with other women so that they

Kimi:

know that they know that it is possible.

Kimi:

And that's what led me to.

Kimi:

Researching and studying all

Kimi:

these different herbs and

Kimi:

foods and what causes fibroids.

Kimi:

And what I identified was that all of

Kimi:

the toxicity in our food, particularly

Kimi:

growth hormones, that they get to the

Kimi:

animals, which then we ingest when we

Kimi:

eat meat, it's embedded in their muscle.

Kimi:

And I changed my life.

Kimi:

Like overnight.

Kimi:

I stopped perming my hair.

Kimi:

I stopped eating meat.

Kimi:

And they did actually shrink.

Kimi:

And then that's when I went back to

Kimi:

school to get my certification in

Kimi:

holistic health and clinical nutrition.

Kimi:

And that was part of really

Kimi:

what led me right here today.

Kimi:

There's a lot of lives in this one life

Kimi:

that I have in these 53, almost 54 years.

Kimi:

But I feel like I've talked too long.

Kimi:

No.

Kimi:

One thing you said a little

Kimi:

off topic, but just me coming.

Kimi:

I've done stuff with wellness, people

Kimi:

know, and I've worked on some grants.

Kimi:

I worked on a grant at one time

Kimi:

through Office of Women's Health

Kimi:

and Office of Minority Health.

Kimi:

And one of the big things especially

Kimi:

for women of color, and I think two

Kimi:

men of color, it is early detection.

Kimi:

That can help us as far as even

Kimi:

detecting some of these things

Kimi:

earlier when we may be more apt to

Kimi:

I guess the word we like maybe adapt

Kimi:

or get the treatment we may need.

Kimi:

What role do you feel that plays or

Kimi:

how does that come into play when you

Kimi:

say, as you say, from a holistic lens

Kimi:

of still trying to encourage people to

Kimi:

go see people who are trained like you,

Kimi:

who are physicians and still seeking.

Kimi:

But being able to keep like

Kimi:

a holistic lens as well too.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: So early detection is

Kimi:

important, but like the old people say,

Kimi:

which still pertains to this day, an ounce

Kimi:

of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Kimi:

So for me, I'd rather you little

Kimi:

by little adept adapt a healthy

Kimi:

lifestyle because studies show, they

Kimi:

talk about a genetic predisposition.

Kimi:

So for instance my dad had

Kimi:

diabetes, his father had diabetes.

Kimi:

So my daddy used to tell me, oh, it runs

Kimi:

in our family, so you're gonna get it too.

Kimi:

And I said no, and sir,

Kimi:

so I chose to live.

Kimi:

A healthier lifestyle, so that

Kimi:

never even shows up in me.

Kimi:

Okay, so prevention.

Kimi:

So you can detect things early, which

Kimi:

is gonna help with treatment, but

Kimi:

from a holistic perspective, let's

Kimi:

just prevent it in the first place.

Kimi:

So even when you are getting tested with

Kimi:

your mammograms, colonoscopy, your blood

Kimi:

work, all the things, it will always.

Kimi:

Show up normal for me,

Kimi:

that's really the goal.

Kimi:

And so studies show, like I was

Kimi:

saying that even if you have a

Kimi:

genetic predisposition for something

Kimi:

that based on how you live your

Kimi:

life, a healthier lifestyle, you may

Kimi:

be able to control whether or not

Kimi:

those genes are expressed or not.

Kimi:

Correct.

Kimi:

Yeah.

Kimi:

I, now, I agree with that.

Kimi:

Genetics can load the gun and

Kimi:

your lifestyle de determines

Kimi:

if the trigger's pulled or not.

Kimi:

And so with a lot of things, and

Kimi:

I know there's some things we.

Kimi:

It just was what it was.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

So if you genetically, you just were

Kimi:

gonna get red hair you got red hair.

Kimi:

And so there's some things, but there

Kimi:

are things that we can do in our

Kimi:

lifestyle that can stop, like you said

Kimi:

this from going forward or to lessen

Kimi:

it, or to make it less painful or to,

Kimi:

experience less symptoms or what have you.

Kimi:

And I think that's important to know too.

Kimi:

It's not just oh I know African

Kimi:

American diabetes, so everybody

Kimi:

gonna get diabetes right.

Kimi:

So I can just eat what I want.

Kimi:

No, especially if, we should even be

Kimi:

more, like on top of it or trying to

Kimi:

see what we can do because there are

Kimi:

things that can be done preventatively,

Kimi:

like you said, to lessen that or to

Kimi:

decrease the time before somebody even

Kimi:

does have to seek, medicinal treatment.

Kimi:

And people forget that sometimes.

Kimi:

I think a lot.

Kimi:

Now I know you experience

Kimi:

your fa your father.

Kimi:

Battled with illness too.

Kimi:

Correct.

Kimi:

And on your website and that you

Kimi:

talk about you were preparing like

Kimi:

his nutrition and tonics for him

Kimi:

and getting him into Whole Foods.

Kimi:

How were you able to help your father

Kimi:

with consistency when you were caring

Kimi:

or trying to teach these practices to

Kimi:

somebody that it may have been outside

Kimi:

of what was normal to them or the

Kimi:

norm, especially at a older age, where

Kimi:

you're set in your ways and to caring

Kimi:

for somebody who you know care for you?

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: One of the biggest

Kimi:

catalyst for change for people is pain.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

Like I said, my dad was diagnosed with

Kimi:

diabetes, and so that came with the

Kimi:

whole, what we call metabolic syndrome.

Kimi:

So that's gonna be the diabetes,

Kimi:

high cholesterol, and high levels.

Kimi:

So my daddy was a over the

Kimi:

road driver, 18 wheeler truck,

Kimi:

and yes, and because of that.

Kimi:

Every year they have to pass

Kimi:

a physical with a Department

Kimi:

of Transportation every year.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

And there was one year where he actually

Kimi:

went and his blood pressure, what?

Kimi:

First, before he went to the DOT

Kimi:

physical, he went to see his primary

Kimi:

care physician and his blood pressure

Kimi:

was elevated to the point that he

Kimi:

would not pass the DOT physical That

Kimi:

was coming up in two and a half weeks.

Kimi:

So I've been telling him.

Kimi:

Daddy, you really can come off of these

Kimi:

medications if you just do this, and this.

Kimi:

And his response to me was these

Kimi:

medications allow me to cheat.

Kimi:

I'm, and my response was, the only

Kimi:

person you're cheating is yourself.

Kimi:

When he want to keep driving, he

Kimi:

came to me and was like, baby,

Kimi:

is there something that I can do

Kimi:

to get my blood pressure down?

Kimi:

I'm thinking

Kimi:

Oh, good.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: have two.

Kimi:

So what I did was I told him

Kimi:

exactly what to eat and I made him

Kimi:

a customized herbal formulation.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

And I told him to drink this at

Kimi:

least twice a day, which he did.

Kimi:

And his blood pressure went down

Kimi:

15 points in two and a half weeks.

Kimi:

That allowed him to pass his

Kimi:

DOT physical and continue to

Kimi:

drive that big 18 wheeler truck.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

So he knew that it worked, but he was

Kimi:

not willing to implement that lifestyle

Kimi:

permanently only as a quick fix.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

Got it.

Kimi:

That's important.

Kimi:

So

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: that's

Kimi:

important right there.

Kimi:

But then you fast forward when

Kimi:

he was diagnosed with laryngeal

Kimi:

cancer or throat cancer, and so

Kimi:

the catalyst for his transformation

Kimi:

at that point was fear and pain.

Kimi:

And pain because he was unable to swallow

Kimi:

because the tumor had grown to the point

Kimi:

that it was difficult for him to swallow.

Kimi:

So they placed what they call a

Kimi:

G tube, and G stands for gastric,

Kimi:

which goes in the stomach, right?

Kimi:

So a stomach tube.

Kimi:

So that is what I was

Kimi:

preparing all the nutrition.

Kimi:

I would take Whole Foods like.

Kimi:

Turnip greens, collard

Kimi:

greens, turnip bottoms.

Kimi:

I would make homemade bone broth and

Kimi:

put all these things in garlic and

Kimi:

some of the, a lot of the herbs and

Kimi:

herbal teas that I already had, and

Kimi:

that would be the nutrition that we

Kimi:

would put into his tube in order to

Kimi:

help him gain weight, not waste away

Kimi:

from the cancer, and definitely not get.

Kimi:

Stick and even more side effects in

Kimi:

his body deteriorate more from the

Kimi:

radiation and the chemotherapy that he was

Kimi:

receiving for the, what's it called it.

Kimi:

And that's the only thing

Kimi:

that was going in his tube.

Kimi:

Not the Ensure or the boost or those

Kimi:

none of that.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Because when you

Kimi:

look on the package, it's a lot of

Kimi:

words that you cannot pronounce.

Kimi:

So that means it didn't

Kimi:

grow from the earth.

Kimi:

It grew from inside in a laboratory.

Kimi:

And so I always say, why do you

Kimi:

put dead things into a living

Kimi:

being you're very particular

Kimi:

about the gas you put in your car.

Kimi:

So you know, some cars.

Kimi:

Yeah, you can put 87 Octane in, but it

Kimi:

is really gonna pop with that 93 Octane.

Kimi:

So that's the same way with

Kimi:

our bodies who are vehicles.

Kimi:

And to me, I'm a luxury vehicle,

Kimi:

so I need that 93 octane.

Kimi:

So what does it

Kimi:

look like for you now?

Kimi:

So what are you, what do you do?

Kimi:

What are your like programs look like?

Kimi:

What do you implement for people?

Kimi:

How do you help people

Kimi:

make these kind of changes?

Kimi:

And I guess you brought

Kimi:

up a really good point.

Kimi:

How do you pick, how do you teach

Kimi:

and educate people on and I come from

Kimi:

that, I've lost over 120 pounds on

Kimi:

my own through diet and exercise.

Kimi:

So it is not just, it's

Kimi:

cool when it's cute, right?

Kimi:

And you like you seeing the dress

Kimi:

sizes and then when it's okay,

Kimi:

this is I gotta do this forever.

Kimi:

It was okay when you were, you

Kimi:

had the momentum and the energy,

Kimi:

but then it's hey, like what?

Kimi:

Like less than 10% of people

Kimi:

gonna keep it off for five years.

Kimi:

You start to get, get in your head.

Kimi:

How do you help people implement things

Kimi:

that are like, these are gonna be.

Kimi:

Lifestyle change?

Kimi:

Is it just to get on the beach or to

Kimi:

look cute or that those might come

Kimi:

with it, but where is like that pivot?

Kimi:

And so what are things that you

Kimi:

do to help people with that?

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: So my godmother told me

Kimi:

long ago who was one of those natural

Kimi:

healers, root woman type of person.

Kimi:

She told me that you should be

Kimi:

able to help anybody, but you're

Kimi:

not supposed to help everybody.

Kimi:

Translation.

Kimi:

You may have the knowledge and wisdom to

Kimi:

help them, but only certain people are

Kimi:

supposed to meet and unite together and

Kimi:

commune together on the healing journey.

Kimi:

All right.

Kimi:

So I really focus a lot right now

Kimi:

on what I call my fabulous sisters

Kimi:

over 40, because we got some special

Kimi:

and different things going on, okay?

Kimi:

And I'm super passionate

Kimi:

about that because that is me.

Kimi:

And even though I'm a whole physician.

Kimi:

I was in perimenopause for seven

Kimi:

years and didn't even know.

Kimi:

Because in school and in our training,

Kimi:

we are not taught that there are

Kimi:

36 symptoms of perimenopause and

Kimi:

menopause and what that looks like.

Kimi:

And then our mothers then

Kimi:

teach us that as well.

Kimi:

And so now that there's a little more

Kimi:

buzz about it, and more and more women

Kimi:

are going to their physician and saying,

Kimi:

I'm having this may not have a hot flash.

Kimi:

If I'm having this, and this,

Kimi:

I feel something is off.

Kimi:

Something is different.

Kimi:

I looked online.

Kimi:

I think I might be in perimenopause

Kimi:

and they're dismissed.

Kimi:

Their own physicians.

Kimi:

Sometimes women physicians

Kimi:

will even dismiss them.

Kimi:

Say, oh no, you're too young.

Kimi:

Oh no, it can't be that.

Kimi:

And then refuse to even test and

Kimi:

see where their hormones are.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

So I'm super passionate about

Kimi:

that, not only in I hate to say

Kimi:

just education, but awareness.

Kimi:

So the first step of healing is awareness.

Kimi:

Physicians do it.

Kimi:

We don't just randomly, give a

Kimi:

prescription, you're gonna run a

Kimi:

blood test, take a chest x-ray or

Kimi:

something because you have to know

Kimi:

what it is that you were treating,

Kimi:

not just shooting in the dark, right?

Kimi:

So I want the women to be more aware

Kimi:

of what's happening to their bodies

Kimi:

and then next, giving them solutions

Kimi:

and natural solutions because a lot

Kimi:

of women are afraid to take hormones.

Kimi:

Particularly because they're synthetic

Kimi:

and there was a lot of studies that came

Kimi:

out a few years ago, which now some of

Kimi:

them have been debunked, that you have

Kimi:

an increased risk of like breast and

Kimi:

ovarian cancer when you take estrogen.

Kimi:

Me having a very strong family

Kimi:

history of breast cancer with my

Kimi:

mother and her sister, then I was

Kimi:

apprehensive about taking hormones,

Kimi:

so I had to find another solution.

Kimi:

And different solutions.

Kimi:

Natural solutions gonna be

Kimi:

your food and various herbs.

Kimi:

But the real piece, and this

Kimi:

answers the part B of your question,

Kimi:

how to keep people on track.

Kimi:

It's really about mindset.

Kimi:

It is hashtag mindset is everything okay?

Kimi:

And really about keeping you

Kimi:

calm, mitigating the stress

Kimi:

response as much as possible.

Kimi:

Because studies show that chronic

Kimi:

stress will A, have women going

Kimi:

into perimenopause earlier.

Kimi:

B, having more frequent symptoms, C,

Kimi:

increase the severity of symptoms.

Kimi:

Chronic stress actually affects

Kimi:

every system of our bodies from the

Kimi:

hair follicle down to the toenails.

Kimi:

All right?

Kimi:

I wrote a book about it.

Kimi:

It's a bestselling book called Conquering

Kimi:

the Chaos, the Super Wonder Woman's 12

Kimi:

Step Strategy for a Stress-Free Light.

Kimi:

And it breaks down what chronic

Kimi:

stress does to each of those systems.

Kimi:

The cardiovascular system,

Kimi:

respiratory nervous system, immune

Kimi:

system, all the things right.

Kimi:

And superimposed on that lens is also

Kimi:

with menopause, because menopause

Kimi:

is a multisystem thing going on

Kimi:

because we have estrogen receptors

Kimi:

throughout our entire bodies.

Kimi:

That's why, girl, it's all

Kimi:

the symptoms happening and

Kimi:

every day is a different day.

Kimi:

One day this joint is hurting.

Kimi:

The next day you have palpitations.

Kimi:

The next day you can't sleep.

Kimi:

The next day what's the next day?

Kimi:

The next day you're having a hot flashes.

Kimi:

Just all these things.

Kimi:

But if I can, and what I do is I really,

Kimi:

through mindfulness based stress reduction

Kimi:

techniques, really helping to shift

Kimi:

the mindset to a more abundant mindset.

Kimi:

People can stay on track.

Kimi:

They're encouraged and they're

Kimi:

reminded that they are powerful.

Kimi:

They're not a victim.

Kimi:

They are a victor, and you can be a victor

Kimi:

over your own power, health, wellbeing,

Kimi:

vision, desire, purpose, dreams, goals.

Kimi:

If you really put your mind to it

Kimi:

and you have to talk yourself through

Kimi:

it, like I call it girl, sometimes

Kimi:

I have to preach to myself, okay?

Kimi:

You do?

Kimi:

No, sometimes I tell people

Kimi:

that sometimes you have to.

Kimi:

Yeah, you do.

Kimi:

Yeah.

Kimi:

I, there were days I would, I

Kimi:

sometimes I couldn't do it for myself.

Kimi:

Sometimes I have to do

Kimi:

it for other people.

Kimi:

'cause we're used to being givers.

Kimi:

I'm get up today and exercise for this

Kimi:

person 'cause I don't have it for me.

Kimi:

But the habit, although I'm not in

Kimi:

the habit of no kind of exercise

Kimi:

right now, but yeah, it's still

Kimi:

the habit and what you have to do.

Kimi:

You said that mindset of learning

Kimi:

what you have to do, what you have

Kimi:

to alter for yourself is important.

Kimi:

Tell us

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Having support

Kimi:

oh, that's huge kind of.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Especially with women.

Kimi:

Sister circles where people

Kimi:

are truly supporting you on

Kimi:

your journey are so important.

Kimi:

And plus it's a scientific thing.

Kimi:

So we know the stress response

Kimi:

is the fight or flight when the

Kimi:

sympathetic nervous system is

Kimi:

activated, the parasympathetic,

Kimi:

what they call rest and digest.

Kimi:

But there's something with women.

Kimi:

That's why when we gather, we

Kimi:

feel better tend and be friends

Kimi:

that will also activate the

Kimi:

parasympathetic and help calm you down.

Kimi:

Okay, so tell us about your team.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: So reality

Kimi:

is not a tea company.

Kimi:

It is a premium wellness experience.

Kimi:

And so with that premium wellness

Kimi:

experience, I do specifically help what I

Kimi:

call, like I told you, the fabulous women

Kimi:

over 40 maneuver, midlife, transitions

Kimi:

with grace and east and age with elegance.

Kimi:

Yes, I'm a billboard.

Kimi:

I'll be 54 in July and come closer, honey.

Kimi:

This is not ai.

Kimi:

This isn't, this is live.

Kimi:

It's not ettes, it's not

Kimi:

Photoshop, it's not a filter.

Kimi:

So I actually live and take

Kimi:

in everything that I share.

Kimi:

With you.

Kimi:

So through that transition and to age

Kimi:

with elegance through premium loose

Kimi:

leaf herbal teas, that they're really

Kimi:

relaxing escapes of wellness in the cup.

Kimi:

They're really transformational wellness

Kimi:

tools and retreat experiences and

Kimi:

transformational wellness program.

Kimi:

So the relaxing escapes of wellness in

Kimi:

the cup and the one that people always

Kimi:

say honey, what's your favorite one?

Kimi:

I'm like, I don't have a favorite one.

Kimi:

Every day a different

Kimi:

one just calls to be.

Kimi:

And that's that being aware, being in

Kimi:

tune and in touch with your body so

Kimi:

you know what it needs, not what it's

Kimi:

craving from an emotional sense, but

Kimi:

what it needs so it can be operate

Kimi:

as the luxury vehicle that you are.

Kimi:

Okay reality officially launched and

Kimi:

started September 8th, 2021 when I

Kimi:

was in the midst of caring for my dad.

Kimi:

When he was going through his

Kimi:

treatment of laryngeal cancer, and

Kimi:

not only was I putting some of the

Kimi:

reality blends in what I would fix

Kimi:

him, his nutrition to go in his

Kimi:

Got it.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: It also became the one

Kimi:

moment of solace that I had in the

Kimi:

day from caring with him, caring for

Kimi:

him because it was very demanding.

Kimi:

demanding.

Kimi:

Yeah.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Exhausting.

Kimi:

And I remember him saying,

Kimi:

you don't sleep enough.

Kimi:

You don't eat enough.

Kimi:

I'm thinking, man, I'll take

Kimi:

care of your kind parts.

Kimi:

So I don't,

Kimi:

but just even if it was just for

Kimi:

five minutes, that was my me time.

Kimi:

From the time that I would boil the water.

Kimi:

And they say a watch pot never

Kimi:

boils, so you can't rush.

Kimi:

The water getting to the appropriate

Kimi:

temperature, and then you can't

Kimi:

rush the steeping of the tea.

Kimi:

And the, what's important is that every

Kimi:

tea, every root, every herb has a certain

Kimi:

timeframe that it has, is optimal flavor.

Kimi:

And drawing out that essence of

Kimi:

it, you can't rush that process.

Kimi:

And then, so I would take those

Kimi:

moments as mindful moments for me,

Kimi:

and then as I would take an inhale

Kimi:

and exhale very slowly and blow into

Kimi:

my cup to cool it off, and then I

Kimi:

would sip and soothe my mind and

Kimi:

Oh

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: soothe my soul.

Kimi:

And then those five

Kimi:

minutes, it was just for me.

Kimi:

Yeah.

Kimi:

Wow.

Kimi:

Where can the audience go to find

Kimi:

out more about you, more about your

Kimi:

offerings, you have so much going on.

Kimi:

You have, like you said, the

Kimi:

whole wellness experiences for the

Kimi:

fabulous ones, over 40 women over 40.

Kimi:

Where can people go to find out

Kimi:

more about you, Dr. Michelle.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Absolutely.

Kimi:

So you can go to free reality.com.

Kimi:

That's F-R-E-E-A-L-I-T-E a.com.

Kimi:

And then you will see at the top of the

Kimi:

page I have what I call the midlife reset.

Kimi:

Five steps to thriving Wellness over 40.

Kimi:

And so it's a midlife and menopause

Kimi:

masterclass because once you know

Kimi:

better, then you can do better.

Kimi:

You'll see that at the top of the page.

Kimi:

And also you can choose the blend that

Kimi:

is right for you through either the

Kimi:

relaxation collection, the wellness

Kimi:

collection, or the sensual collection.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

And you also have some events

Kimi:

coming up too that people

Kimi:

might be on the lookout for.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Yes, absolutely.

Kimi:

So definitely look out

Kimi:

for the masterclass.

Kimi:

The Midlife and Menopause

Kimi:

masterclass called the Midlife Reset.

Kimi:

And in September I am having

Kimi:

the Soulful Awakened Weekend.

Kimi:

It's a me Time Mountain Retreat up in

Kimi:

the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

Georgia.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: on the Georgia side,

Kimi:

Is that so they can find

Kimi:

out about that on the website?

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: absolutely.

Kimi:

Okay, we'll make sure we'll

Kimi:

have all of that in the show notes.

Kimi:

We'll make sure we have all of those

Kimi:

things linked so people can learn about.

Kimi:

So even if they're not here in

Kimi:

Georgia or away near, far, sounds

Kimi:

like you have options for everyone

Kimi:

that they could, whether it's for

Kimi:

them or for someone who they love.

Kimi:

And I do wanna shout you out

Kimi:

'cause you know you are hometown.

Kimi:

We are definitely both from Indiana.

Kimi:

So I had to shout out Dr.

Kimi:

Michelle, my nap person.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Absolutely.

Kimi:

Born and.

Kimi:

she is hometown.

Kimi:

Yes.

Kimi:

So it just hits a little different, right?

Kimi:

So definitely to all of my people

Kimi:

as my, all my family, my mom,

Kimi:

whoever, will be out Indianapolis.

Kimi:

You've definitely gotta

Kimi:

show love to Dr. Michelle.

Kimi:

So tell people, what are some words

Kimi:

that you live by Dr. Michelle?

Kimi:

What's a mantra?

Kimi:

What are some things?

Kimi:

I know you have many, but

Kimi:

give us what, A few of them.

Kimi:

A couple of them.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Okay.

Kimi:

You know what?

Kimi:

I'm gonna leave you with

Kimi:

an affirmation for my book.

Kimi:

Yay.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: Okay.

Kimi:

Let's see let's choose a good one.

Kimi:

And so that's how I preach to myself

Kimi:

is I say affirmations to myself

Kimi:

because you become what you speak,

Kimi:

you become what you think about.

Kimi:

So if I'm thinking something rather

Kimi:

negative, if I say it enough, then it

Kimi:

shifts to I think positively and not

Kimi:

just think I can see my way positively.

Kimi:

Okay.

Kimi:

Ooh, this is good right here honey.

Kimi:

There's a lot of good ones, but I'm gonna

Kimi:

open up, I'm gonna go with this one.

Kimi:

I am worthy of the very best in life.

Kimi:

I'm now lovingly receive it.

Kimi:

We need some affirmation.

Kimi:

We need a little affirmation

Kimi:

set from that book.

Kimi:

That's the next

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle: yes.

Kimi:

Yes.

Kimi:

Dr. Michelle Clay, thank you so much

Kimi:

for being here, free reality and

Kimi:

everything, and bringing all of your.

Kimi:

Just a life of experiences and so

Kimi:

many different things and showing

Kimi:

us, physician, holistic healer,

Kimi:

Kimi:
